If you, like me, have managed to get yourself pretty addicted to a geolocation app, such as: Foursquare, Facebook Places, Gowalla or even Forecast (something which is really quite new), then you may be wondering what it leads to, what next? Amongst other things, such as Foursquare ding well to increase usability of their app and also the gamification, pitching you against your friends to be the highest on the leaderboard from points acquired from all of your check-ins. Other cool things can be done with this information. I particularly like the visualisation of this information, such as mine showed from Wee Places below:
- What do you think?
- Has geolocation been and gone?
- Have you seen any other cool uses of the Foursquare (or other geolocation) APIs?
I would be really interested to hear other peoples opinion, good or bad, on gelocation apps and social media…
